INDOORS-
- Make
sure all your doors have sturdy locks.
Keep them locked at all times, and
consider installing wide-angled peep
holes for outside observation.
- Never
open your door to strangers.
- Be
wary of any isolated spots.
- Know
your neighbors so you have someone to
call in case of an emergency.
- Never
enter your home if you notice suspicious
aticivity taking place.
OUTDOORS-
- Avoid
walking / jogging alone. Keep in well-lit
areas.
- Wear
clothes and shoes that give you the
ability to move easily.
- Be
careful for motorists asking for
directions.
- Have
your key ready for your destination at
all times.
- If you
believe you're being followed, find a
well-populated area as soon as possible.
IN
YOUR CAR-
- Park
in well-lit, well-traveled areas.
- ALWAYS
lock your car - when you're getting in
and out of it.
- Look
around your car and in the back seat
before entering.
- If
your car breaks down: Lift the hood, lock
the doors, and turn on your flashers. Use
a police banner, flares, or a cell phone
to access help.
- NEVER
Hitchhike!
